Scripture: Jeremiah 29: 11-13 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your hear
1.Put God first in everything you do.
In setting our visions, goals, plans and decisions we have to include and put God first. If God is leading us, we are more motivated and guided because we follow Him, his example, his way and his will.
Vision gives us direction. Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. -Proverbs 29:18
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths” (Proverbs 3: 5-6).
As we are start another year, we set new plans and goals, but sometimes we forget to include God. We set our objectives yet disregard and fail to put God first. We tend to do things our own way and plan our own life without realising that without God’s leading we would be redirected away from His presence.
If we want our lives to be well-guided and blessed by God, we have to prioritise God first. To regard God as our highest priority, that whatever plans we have, we commit it to the Lord to make it successful. Otherwise, we will end up with regrets, mistakes, hurts and disappointments.
To put God as our priority means that we have to make time for God. We make time for God from the moment we wake up and before we go to bed. We acknowledge His presence moment by moment.
We make decisions not according to our will, but to His will, not according to our terms and conditions. We can never go wrong and fail because God is ahead of us. When we make a decision it is important that we ask for His anointing and guidance. Let God be glorified in everything that we do.
2.We need to pray in everything we do.
Pray unceasingly. 1 Thessalonians 5:17. The world is terrible, and the god of this world is very serious and dedicated to kill, to steal, and to destroy us. That is why we fear and worry, and we cannot do anything by worrying. But by prayer we can move the hand of God to do miracles. Prayer can open or shut the door of heaven. Fears and doubts are the enemies of faith and prayer. A prayerful Christian is a powerful Christian.
“Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you lose on earth will be loosed in heaven. -Matthew 18:18
For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. -Matthew 7:8
We can never put God first in our lives unless we totally surrender to Him and unless we turn our ears to the Word of God. If we have bitterness and hurts, we have to forgive and be free, we have to surrender. Without surrendering ourselves, we can never have a true worship. We have to surrender with all our hearts and with all our strength and thoughts, our pride and ego and say, ‘come Lord Jesus take over’ and allow God to use our lives according to His will and purpose.
